We are very proud to announce that our ‘AI-PPE Compliant’ solution is now live at Intel’s IoT Lab in Munich. Working in partnership with UP (AAEON)

In this instance, we have used Axis video surveillance equipment and edge computing (UP Squared AI Dev Kit) to provide proactive and real-time tracking of people’s workwear (PPE).

For this demo both Intel NU and UP Squared, featuring the bleeding edge AI Core PCIe module and AI Core-M module, have been used.

Cortexica at Intel IoT Lab

“Being part of Intel’s IoT labs is a proud moment for us, it gives us the opportunity to be part of Intel’s innovation process, which then feeds back into our product roadmap. It also supports our academic achievements, whist giving our clients the confidence in our AI and machine learning commercial abilities”, says Iain McCready, CEO, Cortexica.

Cortexica, in partnership with Axis Communications and UP (owned by AAEON) use machine learning and video analytics to ensure employee safety with AI-PPE Compliant.

Creating a smarter AI future with a safer workplace

AI-PPE Compliant is a solution that monitors workwear, e.g. hard hat, high-vis vest, footwear or other personal protective equipment (PPE) against a set of pre-defined rules, to flag up any missing items, which will then restrict access to the workplace until the individual is properly kitted out.
