Accenture panel with Microsoft and World Economic Forum
Alastair Harvey, Cortexica’s Chief Solutions Officer, was invited to speak at Accenture’s Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionizing the Working World conference session alongside senior executives from Microsoft and the World Economic Forum.
Accenture, the global management consulting and professional services company, hosted four conference sessions at the Hanover Messe 2017. The opening discussion focussed upon the impact of AI & automation on the industrial workforce, with a panel debate between Bruce E Johnson of Microsoft, Mehran Gul of World Economic Forum and Cortexica’s Alastair Harvey – and moderated by Eric Schaeffer, Accenture’s Senior Managing Director – Industrial Equipment, Global.
The discussion focussed on how the industrial workforce will increasingly collaborate with AI and automation technologies. The speakers investigated how this transition to a workforce blended with technology might lead to workers focussing on higher value skills to set them apart from AI and their new robot colleagues.
Cortexica’s AI powered image recognition technology is increasingly being applied to industrial scenarios where the technology can augment and enhance the capabilities of the workforce. The adaptability and broad applicability of Cortexica’s technology allows for image recognition to provide an intelligent solution to a broad range of novel business needs, particularly in the areas of health and safety and security.
Following the panel discussion Alastair Harvey said “This was a fascinating discussion with Bruce E Johnson from Microsoft and Mehran Gul from the World Economic Forum and an excellent opportunity to articulate how the application of our AI-based technology can enhance efficiency and effectiveness across a range of industries and verticals.”
Hanover Messe is one of the world’s largest trade fairs. The conference specialises in industrial technology and has 225,000 attendees and 6,500 exhibitors annually.
