When you click on the retailer logo or name in Price comparison mode, you will be taken to the Retailer info page, where you can "Add to basket" the number of bottles you wish to buy from that retailer.

For example, if you select a wine sold by Ocado, then you will be asked to provide your Ocado.com account details (username* & password*), but only once. If you then want to place more wines into your Ocado account basket later on, you will not need to provide account details again, until you restart the App. If you close the App, you will be asked for your password the next time you want to add wine to your Ocado online basket.

Alternatively you can e-mail yourself (or someone else) the details of the wine, including price and retailer, or you can browse the retailer's web site (if they have one) where you may be able to purchase the wine.

Search unbounded across all key wine information using textual input via the keyboard - an alternative way to search than visually - then have the results returned immediately and grouped by category for easy expansion. Groupings include:

• Names
• Classification
• Region
• Country
• Vineyard
• Grape, and
• Price

The Names grouping and all sub-groupings indicate the number of results returned in brackets, e.g. Red (34). The wine names are downloaded to the App in batches at a time; simply hit "More results" to download the next batch.

Review contextually relevant information about the wine, available when you want it, at the touch of a button; details are available for most wines, such as:

• Country
• Wine type
• Alcohol content
• Tasting notes
• Body
• Producer
• Style
• Sweetness
• Food match
• Closure, and
• Bottle size

The Detail view is also where you can star rate the wine - See Rate, Review and Share for more details.

If you choose to review this wine, your review will appear at the bottom of the content, and is stored in the App - See Rate, Review and Share for more details.

Just like a sommelier, WINEfindr can suggest an Alternative to the wine you are reviewing; it does this based on the key characteristics of that wine, such as:

• Grape
• Style
• Appellation
• Acidity
• Oak level, etc. and,
• of course Price, and
• Retailer

So whether you are looking to choose a good wine for your meal in a restaurant, puzzling over what to select in a wine bar or simply want to find a similar wine at your local supermarket, the intelligent Wine Reference engine™ (iWRe™) within WINEfindr will suggest one, to suit your pocket, at the touch of a button.

Browse your history of wines with the flick of a finger, or turn your iPhone to landscape mode and evoke Bottle Flow™, where you can browse by the image of the bottle, just like you browse album covers with Cover Flow™ on your iPod. See Bottle Flow for more details.

History also stores your Visual Search requests, including Queued requests that cannot be sent immediately because there is no Internet connection - which is sometimes the case when deep within retail stores.

Additionally, History stores requests that return no matches for Visual Searches. Then you can choose to submit your picture of a wine to be considered for inclusion in our wine database.

Note that you can also remove items from your History.

You can build and edit your own collection of the wines you like best by simply adding them to your own Favourites list by hitting Favourites on the tool bar when viewing the wine Details.

Simply turn your iPhone into landscape mode whilst within History and WINEfindr will change to Bottle Flow™, enabling you to preview an image of each wine in your History together with summary details, such as:

• Name
• Country
• Wine type
• Price range, and
• if you have rated it already, your Rating

Just like a good sommelier knows which wines are best for certain food types, so too will WINEfindr suggest to you a food pairing for your chosen wine, and vice versa; so you need never be stuck for a wine to match a meal, or a food type to go with your wine.

Using the same intuitive grouping method WINEfindr enables you to select the food type, such as:

• Meat
• Seafood
• Vegetables/Pulses/Soya
• Pasta/Noodles/Rice
• Eggs/Cheese/Dairy, and
• Desserts

WINEfindr will then return you a selection of appropriate wines to match that top category as well as subcategories for further refinement, for example (for Meat): Beef, Chicken/Poultry, etc.

An example of a full category and sub-category pairing is:

• Meat ▷
  • Beef ▷
    • Grilled/Barbequed ▷
      • Steak ▷
        • with peppercorn sauce ▷
          • wines

At each stage in this refinement, the intelligent Food Pairing engine™ (iFPe™) will suggest suitable wines; selecting one will immediately switch to the Price comparison function.

The Rolly Scrolly™ function in Discovery enables you to discover a wine by chance. WINEfindr will randomly select a wine based on your selection criteria:

• Wine type
• Food type
• Country, and
• Price range

You can then lock, and unlock, each column by touching the padlock icon - this prevents that column from scrolling - then either (physically) shake your iPhone or touch the "Shake to Discover" button, and the column of text scrolls round, just like a slot machine, whilst the sound of wine pouring plays in background.

WINEfindr will play a cork popping sound when it (randomly) chooses an item in each column to match, although, some choices won't be able to return a wine, such as, "White", "Steak", "Uruguay", "£5".

If a suitable match is found, WINEfindr takes you directly to the Price compare function.

With Featured you can discover which wines are the most popular wines that WINEfindr users are searching for. Just like Text search, Food pair and Alternatives, the most popular wines are grouped in categories to enable quick and easy choices. Groupings are:

• Price
• Classification
• Region
• Country
• Vineyard, and
• Grape

So you can keep up with the latest trend in wine searching and buying, or set your own trend and buy a wine that isn't quite as well known.

Featured bottles are wines that specific retailers think you might be interested in (based on anonymous searches). As your searching and discovery progresses over time, featured bottles will become more relevant to your preferences, your tastes and of course, your budget.

Rate
Just like you can quickly rate a track in the iPod with one finger, WINEfindr enables you to do similar star rating by simply drawing your finger across the grey stars immediately above the wine Name in Details view; WINEfindr will then remember your rating of that wine.

Review
You can also review your wine, writing your own tasting notes for example, or any other detail you wish WINEfindr to remember about your wine for you.

Your review will appear at the bottom of the wine content detail in the Details view for that wine, and is stored in the App.

Share
You can share your experience, including your star ratings and reviews of individual wines, with your friends on:

• Twitter
• Facebook
• Google Buzz, and
• by e-mail

The wine name, price and where to buy it, as well as a link to the WINEfindr App (in the App store) are all included (where possible) making it easy for your friends to start discovering wine and saving money too!

* For the Add to basket function to work seamlessly, WINEfindr requires you to supply your online account details (username and password) for that retailer. If you do not have an account with that specific retailer, and you wish to (eventually) purchase the wine through that online retailer, you will need to set up an account with that online retailer. Similar to iTunes, WINEfindr will ask for your username and password for each online retailer, when you wish to add to their online basket. That online retailer username will be retained for your convenience within the App, but your password will not; you have to enter your password the first time you use the "Add to basket" function for each retailer, each time you launch the WINEfindr App.
